The Local AI Handbook("the Site") is about keeping data on your own hardware — so this policy holds itself to the standard the Site preaches: it says exactly what is collected, why, for how long, and how to have it deleted.

The Honest Boundary

This website runs on cloud infrastructure like most websites: hosting and form handling on Cloudflare, analytics via Google Analytics, and transactional email via an email delivery provider. Client deployments — the thing this site is about — are the opposite: they run on your hardware. We keep that distinction explicit everywhere.

What We Collect, and Why

• Reading the site: no account, no login, no PII. Google Analytics collects anonymized usage data (pages viewed, approximate region, device type) so we can see which guides help. No personal information is sent to analytics — not emails, not form contents.
• The assessment intake form: name, organization type, role, work email, region, the kinds of sensitive data your business handles, and an optional note. Collected only when you submit the form, used only to prepare for and conduct your consultation. Protected by Cloudflare Turnstile (bot filtering).
• The readiness quiz: your answers are processed to produce a score. If you request the emailed report, we collect your email address with an explicit consent checkbox. Requesting a report is not consent to marketing — those are separate checkboxes, and the report email identifies the sender and includes a working unsubscribe mechanism.
• Newsletter: email address, with express consent, unsubscribe in every message.

Retention and Deletion

Intake and quiz submissions are retained for 24 months, then deleted. To have your data deleted sooner, email us (address on the About page) and we will delete it within 30 days and confirm. Synthetic test submissions we generate to verify the form works are tagged and cleaned automatically.

What We Never Do

• Sell or share your information with third parties for marketing.
• Put personal information into analytics events, URLs, or logs.
• Render anything you type into a form back onto a web page.
• Treat a requested report as permission to send marketing.
